Hyderabad: In a brutally shocking incident, a man in Guntur district along with his parents, allegedly beat up his six-month pregnant wife with an iron rod on the stomach causing her to undergo a miscarriage on Sunday.
Police say the family, blinded by superstition and faith in a baba, believed that she was pregnant with a girl child and hence decided to terminate the pregnancy.
The victim claims that this was her fifth pregnancy and there were two previous cases of forcible abortions.
The man, Allabakshu, already has two daughters with his 30-year-old wife. A case has been registered against the husband and in-laws.
